Baby Everly will be here soon…..sneak a peek this adorable belly and couple!! I met Tyler when he moved here from California long ago. I quickly fell in love with his family and well the rest is just more good stories! I was super excited when Mel contacted me about their session. After a miscommunication with the weather and a SUPER crowded park we found the perfect place to celebrate the soon to be new edition “Everly Tyler”. But can we just talk about her name for a minute…I mean seriously I am in LOVE with everything about it! It is such young and contemporary name for a blooming little flower! Sneak a little peak at the magical moments moments we had during Tyler and Mel’s session. I am looking forward to meeting her!! Congratulations y’all!

blueberries on a lovely saturday morning.

Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or to hatch.
— E.B. White

The earth is such a beautiful place when you really think about it. The moon alone will cause you to gasp and the ocean goes for miles with life a plenty, grass and dirt, with plants and fruit, the beauty seems endless. Imagine; all the people on earth living their lives; each in a different way. The more you think about it the more it can surprise you. Problem is, people don’t stop to smell the roses. I, myself am also subject at times to not taking the time to stop breathe and live in the moment. The earth has such amazing sights and trees and desserts and canyons, oh those mountains have you seen them?? If you haven’t you should take a trip and if you can find them with snow on them…I’m sure you’ll enjoy the view! I always love a good road trip! As long as I don’t have to drive speaking of road trips d and I drove over to Pappy’s Strawberry Patch, which actually contained blueberries when we went to do some picking. My friend Kelly had asked if we wanted to go with her and I hadn’t been to pick anything myself since I was a pip squeak and I want d to experience life almost as I did. When we got there there were quite a few families picking and even some individuals were alone. I can imagine it can be a relief to pick some blueberries alone on a lovely Saturday. It was pretty muddy and all the blueberries were lined in black pots down the rows of dirt, d loves dirt. I’m still ever so thankful we just so happen to have his rain boots in the car! Sometimes just one accessory can make or break a photograph, in this case it made it! Kelly got us some baskets and we went to picking. I used it as an opportunity to allow d to learn all about the earth and outside is one of his favorite places to be. I believe he may have ate more blueberries than he put into his basket, which led me to think he thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt the need to give the land keeper a couple extra dollars for his unknown consumption. He was one happy camper…mud, dirt and life all around him.

a bump named jamison.

I could not stop gushing over how great my friend Stephanie looked when she showed up to meet me for some pictures of her, her cute bump, and her dog at Gemini Springs in Debary, Florida. I had not really seen Steph in awhile and it was so fun to catch up, she has not changed a bit. Except for the tiny seed she is growing in her belly, which I can not wait to meet!! The weather was perfect, even the fish agreed. They were jumping out of the springs while we were there. Although there was no time for fish, my focus was on that magnificent baby belly.

Jamison, you are so lucky to join such a wonderful family. From the moment I met them they have always made me feel like I am one of their own. I even got to snap a few pictures of Steph with her mom, goodness I feel soo lucky! Look for more of this little lady on my blog in due time until then…..

behind the name.

Kabiki. Cuh-bicky. kabiki studios.

I finally did it, I named my infatuation with my camera and it feels good.

I thought my first post was going to be this fabulous shoot of a gorgeous baby bump I just did recently, don’t worry it is in the works. Instead I’m going with an explanation or a behind the name story. I was a young girl when kabiki entered my life. I am one of four  god bless my mom. My dad was always one of those live the good life jokesters and he loved to use nicknames to get our attention, it made it more fun. My eldest sister Samara nicknamed me bik, which soon turned into kabiki, and of course to make it even more fun I even got to be called kabikster. Samara had a few of her own nicknames my dad passed on to her such as hotdog or babs. The evolution continues my son Deagan calls her nene. Our brother Jim probably got the best ones; sportsfan and now we call him mij, Jim backwards. Amber whom is also older than me received the good ole mer and merber. Nicknames were a regular affair around our house and they still are. Deagan has quite a few himself; D, deagster, deags. I chose to brand my site with my nickname, frankly because everything else is taken. Millions of minds and I just jumped head first into the pool! I hope you enjoy my thoughts, photography and my life. Tomorrows a busy day for this girl so good night world. It’s official, I blog.
