Baby Everly will be here soon…..sneak a peek this adorable belly and couple!! I met Tyler when he moved here from California long ago. I quickly fell in love with his family and well the rest is just more good stories! I was super excited when Mel contacted me about their session. I knew it would be perfect from the moment I saw her adorable flower headband she had planned to wear! After a miscommunication with the weather and a SUPER crowded park we found the perfect place to celebrate the soon to be new edition “Everly Tyler”. But can we just talk about her name for a minute…I mean seriously I am in LOVE with everything about it! It is such young and contemporary name for a blooming little flower! Sneak a little peak at the magical moments moments we had during Tyler and Mel’s session. I am looking forward to meeting her!! Congratulations y’all!
The earth is such a beautiful place when you really think about it. The moon alone will cause you to gasp and the ocean goes for miles with life a plenty, grass and dirt, with plants and fruit, the beauty seems endless. Imagine; all the people on earth living their lives; each in a different way. The more you think about it the more it can surprise you. Problem is, people don’t stop to smell the roses. I, myself am also subject at times to not taking the time to stop breathe and live in the moment. The earth has such amazing sights and trees and desserts and canyons, oh those mountains have you seen them?? If you haven’t you should take a trip and if you can find them with snow on them…I’m sure you’ll enjoy the view! I always love a good road trip! As long as I don’t have to drive speaking of road trips d and I drove over to Pappy’s Strawberry Patch, which actually contained blueberries when we went to do some picking. My friend Kelly had asked if we wanted to go with her and I hadn’t been to pick anything myself since I was a pip squeak and I want d to experience life almost as I did. When we got there there were quite a few families picking and even some individuals were alone. I can imagine it can be a relief to pick some blueberries alone on a lovely Saturday. It was pretty muddy and all the blueberries were lined in black pots down the rows of dirt, d loves dirt. I’m still ever so thankful we just so happen to have his rain boots in the car! Sometimes just one accessory can make or break a photograph, in this case it made it! Kelly got us some baskets and we went to picking. I used it as an opportunity to allow d to learn all about the earth and outside is one of his favorite places to be. I believe he may have ate more blueberries than he put into his basket, which led me to think he thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt the need to give the land keeper a couple extra dollars for his unknown consumption. He was one happy camper…mud, dirt and life all around him.

So d has been in school since he turned one. I would say walking but he practically skipped that stage and started running all boy. His teacher, Miss Laura has managed to keep me off the snack list until recently and it is only fair I contribute to the snack days since d acts like I never feed him big eater. It doesn’t help the teachers love him so much they share their lunches with him too, I’m not complaining. He’s sort of irrestible when he’s says bite, bite, bite…pease! Back to the cookies, in class the sand and water table has transformed into a birds nest, super cute right? Miss Laura asked me to make some sort of bird nest snack, I thought oh boy! Another volcano preparing to erupt in my kitchen, I’m not a solid baker…yet. I began to ponder how to make the nests and came up with a little healthy yet fun “cookies”. Of course I paired this lovely snack with grapes and cheese They were super simple and only contained FOUR ingredients, small pretzel rods, chocolate chips, dry roasted peanuts, and some sort of egg-like candy; I used the new pretzel m&ms
Hope you enjoy making them as much as I did and my kitchen was surprisingly clean when I finished, no volcano eruption that day. Super simple and easy to share with everyone!
Here are the steps:
Step One: Break pretzel sticks in half.
Step Two: Combine crushed or whole peanuts with pretzels. I crushed mine, avoiding any choking hazards.
Step Three: Melt 12 oz of chocolate by following package instructions and drizzle all over mix.
Step Four: Make small nest like piles on parchment paper.
Step Five: Add small egg-like candy on top.
Step Six: Refrigerate one hour to harden and…..
Step Seven: ENJOY!
Jamison was born and seven days later Stephanie called me and his first picture session was set! It was my first time shooting a newborn besides my own 18 months ago! He was a doll, literally. Other than the few times things were probably just a little cold, he was a charmer. Some of the shoot he slept through while some he was awake, he seriously could not have been a better mini model. I learned a lot about lighting and all of the behind the scene work that goes into a session with a newborn. Be sure when you do a newborn shoot to keep towels handy for those newborn accidents I used a few things like a bean bag, a couple throw blankets, a basket, some old trunks and a few things that his mommy had instead of creating some fancy backdrop I scanned the house to find the best natural light. Although, this house had a great bones…not everyone will so I do plan on making a newborn backdrop out of pvc, blog soon to follow! I can’t wait for more of this little bugger…I have a few sneek peeks for ya!
Isn’t he just precious? I just can’t get over him and all his cuteness! Congratulations Stephanie he is perfect!
I could not stop gushing over how great my friend Stephanie looked when she showed up to meet me for some pictures of her, her cute bump, and her dog at Gemini Springs in Debary, Florida. I had not really seen Steph in awhile and it was so fun to catch up, she has not changed a bit. Except for the tiny seed she is growing in her belly, which I can not wait to meet!! The weather was perfect, even the fish agreed. They were jumping out of the springs while we were there. Although there was no time for fish, my focus was on that magnificent baby belly.
Jamison, you are so lucky to join such a wonderful family. From the moment I met them they have always made me feel like I am one of their own. I even got to snap a few pictures of Steph with her mom, goodness I feel soo lucky! Look for more of this little lady on my blog in due time until then…..

I thought my first post was going to be this fabulous shoot of a gorgeous baby bump I just did recently, don’t worry it is in the works. Instead I’m going with an explanation or a behind the name story. I was a young girl when kabiki entered my life. I am one of four god bless my mom. My dad was always one of those live the good life jokesters and he loved to use nicknames to get our attention, it made it more fun. My eldest sister Samara nicknamed me bik, which soon turned into kabiki, and of course to make it even more fun I even got to be called kabikster. Samara had a few of her own nicknames my dad passed on to her such as hotdog or babs. The evolution continues my son Deagan calls her nene. Our brother Jim probably got the best ones; sportsfan and now we call him mij, Jim backwards. Amber whom is also older than me received the good ole mer and merber. Nicknames were a regular affair around our house and they still are. Deagan has quite a few himself; D, deagster, deags. I chose to brand my site with my nickname, frankly because everything else is taken. Millions of minds and I just jumped head first into the pool! I hope you enjoy my thoughts, photography and my life. Tomorrows a busy day for this girl so good night world. It’s official, I blog.
